Got An Exhaust! Did I Gain Power?
Ok I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought an exhaust for my 93 F-150 5.0 (302). I got:
A Flo-Pro performance muffler, it has one inlet and two outlets. I kept my factory catalytic convertor on. So I ran one piece of pipe from the catalytic convertor into the new muffler and then two pieces of pipe out of the muffler and put some nice chrome tips on. I used 2.25" tube all the way around.
The truck is not really loud it just has a much deeper tone to the exahaust not to mention how much better it looks then the old stock exhaust. I am really happy with it. But it seems that it didn't make any difference at all in my horsepower.
The truck is stock except for a K&N drop-in and a Superchip.
1: So should I have gained some power from this? If so around how much HP?
2: Did I loose any torque with this setup over the stock system?
Thanks!

OH YES! you surely did! I am not sure if a muffler setup like yours would be much different than mine, but in any case you'll notice a difference. Just give it time.
I really don't know about hp ratings though. I know that you can gain 4-7 hp by removing the cat.

Well after a little "informal" testing. I do believe I have gained some power. I know this is not a good way of testing power gains but before the exhaust in a level surface the truck would barley "squeal" the right rear tire now it will squeal for every bit of two seconds. Also when doing 65mph on the interstate and I kick it down to pass someone it seems to pick up speed a lot quicker and it wants to keep on going.
I figure that after my Superchip, K&N and Exhaust I've probably gained about 28hp at the flywheel. So maybe about 20 RWHP. That seems pretty good.
Now I need to figure out what to do next. I hate to remove the catalytic convertor because if i ever sell the truck it will be a lot harder to sell. We don't have emissions or anything here but, like everywhere else we are supposed to leave the catalytic convertor on. I wonder if a cop got down and checked to see if I had one, if I would get in trouble or not?
Hmmmmmm, I could also do headers but they are a lot of $$$$ and a lot of time. Plus a lot of hassle tightning up the bolts every 25k miles and putting in new gaskets. I just don't know what to do next.

BMW: I would honestly think you gained more than 28 hp with your mods. Jeez I know I gained more. This summer, I plan on removing some of the innerds of my cat. (YA, I know its illegal.) or running true duals with 2 convertors. I really love my headers, I have only tightened once in almost a year, and they were worth the money. I have cracked manifolds on my old truck, so I'm planning for another set.
I finally got the ignition on, or should I say had it put on, and I have noticed slight more throttle responce, will tell more n time.
Other VERY cheap upgrades, you may think about is, a TPS mod, and advancing your timing. It is a noticeable difference, and its free, providing the right tools.

correct, Tps is the Throttle Position Sensor, it is located underneath the Throttle housing, it has several wires.
Check this out, you'll need a voltmeter, and I would have someone who is familiar with engines. I have a friend who is a retired Ford mechanic, so he gives me all the details. And there are some performance engine builders among us, who can give details, like side gapping and etc.

Advancing the timing. I still don't know if a chip does anything to the timing, but I advanced mine 4 degrees, the computer brings it to about 17. Everyone knows how to do this, and its very simple to do on older v-8's like ours.
