Question Aftermarket Exhaust and Factory Warranty

I am considering installing a new exhaust system and chip on my new '99 F150 4.6. Before I do, I was wondering if this will void the factory warranty. If so, does it void specific components or the entire powertrain...

Any information is appreciated

They have to prove beforehand that what you did caused the damage. That is BEFORE they can deny payment. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act details it all. (spelling?)

Cool

If it hasn't changed in the last few years, as long as you stay behind the cat. conv's on the exhaust you retain warranty. The chip from what I hear will void the warranty.

Exclamation

Nickster,

I beg to differ. Spend some time over in "Computers" with Superchips_Distributer and all is explained without a doubt. The doubters are always the ones without the chip.

Just got my latest issue of Petersen's 4 wheel and off road last night, think it is Jan.,2000. Great article on modifications and warranties. Everybody who has a vehicle under warranty should get a copy and save it for future reference. Exhaust after cats should be no problem.

Spaceace

I see that you installed a Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 series on your truck. How does it sound inside the cabin around 65mph? Are you satisfied? Or would you rather have the 50 series in Delta Flow? Drone? I've never heard comments on this series, any input will be appreciated.

JMTruck,
There is a slight drone. I wouldn't even bitch about it. It's probably better than a straight 40 series.

Any drone seems drastic compared to stock. I don't mind it.
