Post bassani Exhaust

I recently saw in Super Ford in the "Inside News" column that Bassani has a new cat back exhaust that gave and Expedition 3-4 more MPG and was no louder than stock. Anyone know about this?

I just put a Bassani Cat back system on my 97 F-150 friday. At first it was a little loud on the highway between 1800-2200 rpm, but it seems to be getting quieter as my computer is getting used to the reduction in back pressure.
It has a deep throughty sound, is realy cool looking with a big pollishes stainless steel exhaust tip. It went on very easy, used all the factory hangers. The hardest part was taking the old system off.
you can order it at http://www.racesearch.com/ and there web page is http://www.bassani.com/

Don,
I was thinking of getting Bassani for my truck. I found it for $365 for a stainless rear exit 3" kit. If you don't mind, what did you pay?
Some days I leave for work at 5:30 AM. Is the Bassani system so loud you would wake up the neighborhood, or can I go light on the gas and sneak out?

Thanks

Hi Bent6
I paid $ 400.00 which included the shipping.
Mine came with a 4 inch stainless steel Tip, but I am sending the tip back and they are sending me one with a resonator in it.
at Idle it is very quiet, was only loud between 1800-2200 rmps on the highway. So you should be able to leave without waking up the neighbors.

Don,
Who did you order it from? Is it 3", and does it go all the way to the converter?

Thanks

Hi Bent6
It is a 3 inch system, and it cost $409.00
On my 1999 f-150 it conects about a foot or so after the converter, where the stock system attached. It used all the factory hangers, and exited in the stock location.
I had a local exhaust shop install it, thet welded it to the cat exit pipe, took then 20 minutes from start to finish to do the job.
