How does gibson supertruck and split rear sound?
I've narrow my exhaust down to 2 choices after reading through everything. Just need to know which has a more low rumble idle, not to loud, which is quieter for highway rides and which is quieter for inside the cab? Also any performance gains to look for?
thanks

I've had Gibson Supertruck installed for about a month. It went on with no probs. It looks great with two rectangular tips exiting in front of tire. Makes good sound on acceleration, but I would like it a little quieter. Don't know if it gives any performance gain but sure does get a reaction when you step on it and those pipes are right next to someones door.

Duraliner drop-in (gave up on the Penda Nascar). Gibson Supertruck
No door cracks yet at 3K!!!
Future mods: 2/4 lowering, bra and some Roush stuff.

I agree with Marv1 on the Super Truck. Its a little loud but it really gets attention. Everyone notices this thing but no one say's its too loud. I know several who want one now that they have heard mine. Don't get me wrong about "a little loud" it ain't like straight pipes or nothin. It is sweet! For some it may not be loud enough. OK, so go ahead and sell your wife on that performance gain stuff but, hey , it really is all about the sound anyway right?

I just had a Gibson dual sport installed on my 99' supercab 5.4L and I just love it! The dual sport has two pipes exiting behind the rear wheels. The system just looks sweet and sounds even better. At idle the exhaust note is maybe 15% louder than stock, but with a nice deep rumble. During acceleration you really can hear a huge difference from the stock system, but it isn't too loud or overbearing at all. I think that having the pipes exit behind the rear wheels helps in comparison to the super truck, but you're going to pay about 40 bucks extra for the extra pipe. Interior noise is more than bearable(I get a little resonance around 70mph) overall and most of the sound stays outside. The dual 3" tips really look nice next to the stock chrome wheels. Hope this helps you make a decision and let us know which system you install.
I spoke with the fellas at Gibson about which system is loudest (I acutally wish my supertruck was a little louder - although my wife strongly disagrees). They said the supertruck system has the smallest(loudest) muffler that they have. The other systems are quieter. Actually, I thought mine was too loud at first. I think it was just the shock of going from the whisper-wussy quiet stock system to the hercules gibson note.
