Question flowmaster 50 and 3" pipe? need advise, hurry

I am ready to remove my gibson and install a 50 series flowmaster. The technician is telling me to go 3" pipe from the y-pipe to muffler and a single outlet also 3". Can anybody tell me if this set up is going to make loose alot of low end? I am ready to do this tomorrow or wed but i would like to consult with you guys on this before i do it.Also, what is better, in front of tire or behind? i do not care about the staining of rear wheel, i will clean it if i have to, i am looking for performance. thank you.

According to Flowmaster: 3" is too big for the 4.6L, stay with the 2.5".

For best performance, Flowmaster wants at least 18" from the "Y" to the muffler and at least 10" of pipe after the muffler. More pipe after the muffler makes it a little quieter but doesn't really help or hurt performance.

Question

Ok guys, i need some input on this issue. Will the 3" kill my low end? Will running pipes all the way to the back keep my low end? The technician insists that it will be ok and he will change it to 21/2 if i do not likeit but that is not the point, i want to do this only once. Thanks for any input.

Talking

i got my truck back yesterday. I just love it this truck is kicking butt. I went 3" from y -pipe to muffler and 3" behind wheel. I cannot believe the difference and i can kick myself for spending my money on the gibson. Gibson is not for me not to say that they do not perform, it is not for me. 50 series is a bit louder than gibson and flowmasters flow a lot smoother. So for anyone wanting a veeeeery nice rumble and lots of power, i recommend the 50 series. I will let you know abouy mpg. By the way total cost was only $156.00.
