Question Catalytic Converters

Can taking off the converters damage your engine? -Vince

Removing a catalytic converter is illegal in all states, I'm certain, for the component is a federally mandated piece of smog gear.

As for potential damage to your engine, I suppose that's not an issue if you don't want to break the law.

Many aftermarket firms have excellent exhaust systems from the catalytic converter on back, known as a "cat-back" system. They're kinda pricey, but considerably less expensive than being caught without a cat-con on your vehicle!
