Local Midas installed mine. I think it was under $120.00 installed out the door and it's been on for around 4 years now. No problems.

Good luck on the muffler

I did a search but cant find any info. Do they have a website?

I have a Ravin z-55 currently on my truck. I've loved it for 4 years but now it has a rattle like a baffle has broken loose inside. I'll probably go with Magnaflow now, hopefully it will sound as good as the Ravin has for the last four years.

And it's true, Midas does suck. I loved the Ravin they put on, but the rest of the work (pipes and hangers in particular) was horrible. My hanger straps have broken at least six times.

Thanks alot for the info! When compared to other mufflers, how loud would you rate the loudness? With Flowmaster being a 10, Ravin being a 8.5-9.5, Magna flow being 5.5????

Is it a deep sound? What exactly do the insides of their muffler look like?

Midas used to have a link off of their website but it's not working now for some reason. Used to have construction info and sound files.

As far as comparing the sound to other mufflers, I think the Raven sounds better. That's one of the reasons I bought it. I was also fed up with all of the Flowmaster talk and thought I'd try something else.

Not that Flowmaster or any other system is a bad thing.

I heard it, I got it, I like it (even 4 years later).

Flowmaster is just too "generic" imo.

In my opinion and experience, you have the "loudness" confused. The Ravin would be somewhere around the 10 mark and the Flows somewhere around the 8-8.5 mark. Magnaflow is about right, unless you have larger tips for a bigger sound. I am yet to find a Flow that has the sound that the Ravins have.

Oh cool, thanks for the info. I have been able to compare the sound on two similar cars, so that was my guess as to the sound.

Just an FYI but the sound clip I posted was of a 2003 F150 w/ a 4.6, it's has stock cats, 3 inch single in, 2.5 single out with a 3 inch tip.

You can check out the selction of different combos at this place .... the fellow who runs it is also a member of this site too.

Good luck.

I have the Ravin on my '04 FX4 and it's great sounding to me..

I've had over the years used many different exhaust setups including true duals with cats, without cats / with straight pipes /
and I've even had Corsa and Borla setups with their headers.

The Ravin is a good mellow sounding muffler with the 2-out setup.

I don't think you'll be unhappy if you try it...

I just got my exhaust installed on my 04 FX4 today. Went with the forward exit side exhaust like on the lightnings. Used the Ravin Z33 and I must say, it is one of my favorite exhaust sounds (and I have heard alot). It isnt the loudest out there, but it has character. It is very deep and very burbely(word?) down low, revs nicely and keeps that deep sound. There is a bit of drone if the rpm is under load, but at cruising, it is pretty quiet.

Check my gallery for some pics.

By the way, B2BF150FX4 which muffler did you go with and what setup did you use on your 04? Any pics?

<<By the way, B2BF150FX4 which muffler did you go with and what setup did you use on your 04? Any pics?>>

I used the Z33 series part number RA334255

Nice sound...all parts are welded (no clamps) with stainless tips (even they are welded to the pipes...Couldn't be happier...yes, there is a slight drone under load but you know it's there and the sound is not obnoxious to me...

Thanks,

B2B

Sorry, on the setup, I just had the OEM muffler cut out and all new put in after that....custom bent dual out pipes to the rear (one on each side of the spare) the outs are 2 1/4" aluminized pipe.
