glasspacks sound to ricey on 4.2l

glasspacks sound to ricey on 4.2l

i have a 1999 4.2l and it has glasspacks on it and it sounds ricey at high rpms. someone told me that if i get the glasspack real hott and throw cold water on it it will break the glass insidethe muffler and make it into straight pipes. will this work??? also will it make my truck sound better or will it make it sound even more ricey.. i need help!thanks

Fiberglass packing blows out over time. Various methods increase the process. If it gets any louder, it will still sound similar; ricey.

aight well ill probably get a 30 or 40 series flowmaster put on since the glasspack will sound ricey still if i break it. does anyone have a a flowmaster on there 4.2l????! i need to now what it sounds like. thanks

ive posted this before, take your muffler off and have em straights. will sound better if you have duals.

but i heared if u put straights on them it will sound ricey for a 4.2l.. and what is the difference if i just plow the fiberglass in the glasspack ?thanks

i can tell you for a matter of fact that straights doesnt sound ricey at all. its really like a very very loud flowmaster, i suggest you do it. mine is 4.2 and sounds sweet.
