Straight pipes backpressure?

I know there is more than 1 subject on pipes but non on just this.

I was thinking about putting straight pipes on my 03 5.4 Screw and I read something about they don't run good with straight pipes because of no backpressure.. Is this true?

Thanks for the help guys

alex

you really don't lose much at all, especially if you just chop off the muffler.if you have full straight pipes you lose a little and if you have straight pipes from the cats back i don't think you lose any,i thought mine actually gained power from idle on up to 5,000
