Question flowmaster 40 series

Hello yall, just bought a 2001 f150 supercrew lariat. I'm looking to put a different muffler on. I'm planning on using the stock tailpipe. Just cutting in the new muffler.Talking to local(pa) muffler shops, they told me to use a flowmaster 40 series with2.5 in and out. Center in/offset out. Does anyone have any input to help, thanks

do yourself a favor and dont buy a flowmaster muffler off any website other than ebay. you can get a brand new one for $39. thats what i did. you will have saved 60 or 70 dollars.

Yes, you'll need a 2.5" in/out to match up with your original system. Most performance mufflers are shorter and they'll have to add/bend a bit of extra pipe to match it up.

Talking replys

Thank you for all your info. I got a 40 series and installed it today. Not too loud, just enough rumble for me.
