New Exhaust Setup?...

I am planning on going with the Flowmaster 40 Series, called a local shop they suggested (for what I was looking for) to go with SI/SO and then dual after the cat. The person I spoke to said going after the cat should mellow the sound a lil bit compared to going dual off of the muffler, cut out a lil bit of the drone. I am looking mainly for performance gains (not looking for racing just best bang for the buck). What do you guys think? I have been reading up on archived posts and didnt see anything specifically on this setup.

Thanks,

Jason

I just had a Flowmaster 40 series delta flow installed. It is SI/DO cat back turned out in front of the passenger wheel.

I love it. Not too loud, but a very deep rumble. A little noise at speed, but just enough to let you know it ain't stock.

SI/SO then dual after the cat???? If you want flows then go 50 series Delta and get the one thats 3 inch in dual 2 1/2 out...It's a Chevy application...it's 430402 I believe...then once over the rear you can go side out or straight back...don't go to big on you tips...3 inch X 12 is good...18's will hide the weld seam better

I can't remember the model number off the top of my head, but Magnaflow has a di/do that has a built in X pipe. I would go with Magnaflow. Just my preference.
