i'm goin to jail

well,i just completely rebuilt my exhaust.the only things left from stock is the "cats" and the piece of pipe that runs from the driver side to the passenger side.i put a mandrel bent 45 in place of the elbow cats and dual 2.5 into an h pipe then back to 90's and 3.5x24" tips before the rear wheels.and it is one loud motherf*ucker.i'm definitely gettin some tickets when i start school in nashville.metro cops got my cousin for noise pollution in his 96 accord with just the muffler and resonators chopped off. imagine what they'll give me.a new address probably,oh well.

Noise is a "quality of life" issue. You may like to mods you did to your truck, but most people find loud vehicles annoying.

all you gotta do to gut your cats is put a 1/4 ohm resistor on the signal wire(gray wire) of the downstream o2 sensor and it'll fix her right up.and as for people who don't like my loud truck, why don't you move to a country where you can't do whatever you want to your vehicle or quit whinin and kiss my hairy, loud, obnoxious big white a$$

you can definitely notice a difference in power, you do need a muffler on there too if you're concerned with all around power gain and mpg.i don't really pay any attention to mileage cause with me drivin its *****ty anyway.but if all you want is wide open high end horsepower then chop it all off.a good muffler is where you're gonna get your low end back.mine seems to get a little worse mpg now that i have straights but it might be that i just get on it more now.i think it runs a little rich after guttin the cats but i still got about the same mpg with my flow still on as it did when the truck was brand new.

i seriously like flowmasters i had a 40 on mine and it had great power.i'm puttin 2 more on it when i get some money saved up.i'm puttin on original 40's though not delta flows.they're pretty inexpensive and they're good quality mufflers that really do make alot of power.you don't want somethin that's straight through like a magna flow or somethin cause that's not gonna make as much low end torque as a flow master and they really do help scavenging at higher rpm too.i think its the best muffler for a truck, because it not only doesn't take away low end it adds to it. one thing i don't know if i mentioned it before or not is if you are guttin the cats you will lose a little low end, nothing big but you can tell,it'll still have plenty if you want to do it though,or maybe just gut the elbows or the big ones.i would also suggest puttin some 2 1/2 pipe inside the cats though if you do gut em cause if you just gut em it makes you lose even more low end but it also then adds to top end again.its like power bombs and stuff they put on dirtbike/fourwheeler exhaust.hope that helped a little more
