From: Colorado,
Bassani on 04 Lightning

Just installed the Bassani SS cat back on my 04 lightning.

Beautiful workmanship, nicely packaged which resulted in no damage.

All the nuts and bolts and washers included. Nice replacement hangers and straps. No drilling or other modifications needed.

Plan on a real fight getting the old one off.
As mentioned by many. A motorcycle ratchet tiedown strap around the axel and to the upper rear muffler hanger pulling back.

Another strap from the front frame to the bracket between the stock dual exhaust hanger pulling to the front.

I removed the stock U bolts and used a dremmel tool with cutting disc to make one long cut through the outer muffler pipe only.
One cut per pipe. Only used two discs.
Then split with a screw driver and using the tailpipe for leverage, wiggle it every which way and keep tightening the straps.
Off it comes in one big peace.

The sound is worth every penny. It has a fairly quiet idle and it gets louder as you push on the gas!!!

Cruising at highway speeds it is a pleasant tone that does not overpower the radio.

Did not add any power or fuel mileage. It just makes the kind of sound you would expect from a lightning.
Enjoy it very much and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
