Taking Mufflers Out

Ive talked to a few people about having my muffler taking out and haveing a y-pipe installed and a couple of them said that taking the muffler out was against the law. Is it? I could care less any way, i just want my truck loud, legal on not!

Yes, you are required to have a muffler.

I just did this to mine, and it sounds great. I don't care about legal. There are no smog checks here, so I don't care about that either. I just like the sound now.

Talking

Now I see why cops smile and feel good when they give teenage punks tickets. And they all think they're being picked on.

Go back to school, kiddies. Maybe you will learn how to spell. By then, you will be able to post something intelligent.

my truck has no cats and a flowmaster 40 right now.and its about to have no muffler too.i've never been pulled over for it bein too loud, just don't get on it right by a cop and you're fine.and even with emission testing i can make it pass.i just went and have mine checked the other day and it passed everything but it failed because i don't have any catalytic converter on it.so that just proved that my fix does work.i wanted to try before i put the cats back on,i gutted em but didn't feel like goin through puttin em back on.just remember there's a legal way,and there's the more fun "legal" way,i choose the latter, always more interesting that way.
