Borla on a 2004

I have a 2004 screw with the 5.4. I have pretty much decided on a borla split rear exit cat back. But before I dump near 600 bucks on it I would like to solicit the opinions, good or bad, from the experience of this board.

What improvements did you see. Was anything lost? How loud is the system and does it have any annoying characteristics. Basically if you have spent the money and installed it would you do it again.

Thanks!

I have the exact same question. I bought my 04 S-Crew Lariat last week and today I am debating on changing the exhaust and air intake. I am worried about the noise. I love how quiet the truck is inside. Although I would not mind the truck to sound a little deeper. I would love to hear any pros and cons as to the Borla. From what i have heard speaking with a few catalog companies it is a very good unit and not quite as loud as the Flowmaster. The 100% 304 stainless is also tempting. Any comments would help in this decision.

I got limited feedback on this in some of the other forums so attributed it to every one thats done this is happy with it. I also did a search and found no negative comments so I ordered one. #590.00 off of ebay. Got it today and plan on putting it on tomorrow. As soon as I get it done and drive it a little I will post what I think (for what it's worth).

I got the kit with the SI/DO borla yesterday 590.00 off ebay. Put it on this morning in about an hour and a half with my boys age 7 & 8 "helping". The fit is perfect. The sound is excellent. Sounds like what a truck should. At cruise with the windows up I am barely able to hear it. There is no droan that I was worried about. Sounds the best around 1800 RPM. I don't know yet how the gas mileage will be. It will probably be worse since it sounds so good when I put my foot in it. My wife even says it sounds good. It looks good with the 2 tips coming out from under the back bumper.
