Changing mufflers... I have Magnaflow
I had a custom dual rear side exit exhaust system setup put on my 03 Screw 5.4L. It has four tips comming out the side at the back behind the wheels.
I had the loudest magnaflow muffler installed, but it just isnt loud enough for my taste. In the future I want to install headers for my system, but right now I want to switch to a louder muffler...
What are my choices? I hate Flowmaster on Fords.
Anyone heard SLP's exhaust on the mustang? That is my favorite sound, they use a resonator type exhaust. But they dont make a system for the trucks! What would sound similar to this?
I like the Bullet resonators on the Ford, anyone heard these??? How is quality?
Any other mufflers I should consider to get a beefey loud exhaust??? I dont care about resonance in the cabin, I just want loud exhaust with character (something flowmasters dont have). And I want a unique sound.

Bullitt...remember that you live in Cali. and you will have to put the cats back on to pay smog.....you can still run the straight pipes out the back but you might lose some power.....and you'll definately lose gas mileage and w/ the SD area gas prices that sucks....

[b]one more question... what muffler would give a nice idle tone? I want to be able to her the exhaust at idle, at part throttle, at WOT and any other time I am driving the thing!!!
How about the new Flowmaster 40 series??? It is a totally different sound than the older flowmaster. Any one tried this?

I have Flowmaster 40
I have a Flowmaster 40 SI/DO setup on my 2002 Sport, I love the Sound, Trying to get sound clip so you can hear. I have them going straight out the rear, with 3" out from Muff. Pics on the Way.
Is it a case of not loud enough from the inside the cab, or outside when it drives by ?
If you have the tips dumped back there, that will have an impact on how loud it is in the cab of the truck ( lowered sound levels ).
I have a Bassani dual setup with the dumps in front of the rear wheel, and inside the truck it is NASCAR truck series ready for the sound level in and out of the cab.
Good luck

That comment about SLP sounding good made me laugh... Not because it doesn't sound good but For mustang guys it sounds too much like a truck exhaust... So there was a little irony in that comment...
You try or considder MagnaPacks, I don't know if magnaflow makes them for trucks but for the mustangs its a much loader more aggressive sound option over the standard ones? I just put them on my mustang and WOW... LOAD AS HELL!!!

dude, pay 30 dollars to have your muffler cut out and a Y pipe put in in place of the muffler. You'lll like it. If not buy a muffler and you'll be out 30 bucks, and if you have a 03 and your mom has a 04, it looks like you can afford it
