Question True Dual Exhaust Help!!

Ok...i am planning on getting 2 delta flow 4o flowmaster mufflers and going to my local exhaust shop and getting them put on to true duals. How much should the exhaust shop charge me for the labor and parts ( except the mufflers) to give me true duals? will this set up help my HP and gas Milage? Thanks

About $180 to $220, depending on the shop, if you're supplying the mufflers. 4.6, I would not go over 2 1/4", and 5.4, 2 1/2". Don't overdo it, or you could hurt both mileage and power.,,,,98

would it be better to have true duals with 2 si/so mufflers or to have 1 si/do muffler going to split dual pipes out the rear? Im looking for a loud, deep rumble...with sum performance gains....

This was in Spokane, WA. They also used rods and donuts, not the strap and clamp method.,,,,98

:edit:
I would do true duals, especially if you are looking for more sound, and plan to do more mods later. Good to be a little oversize at first, if the rest of your mods catch up later. Mine is barely over stock when idling, nice low mellow sound. But open it up, and it sounds really mean. I mean oversize, as two pipes over the single factory. You'll also lose the restrictive factory y pipe if you go true dual.

What size engine you have? If it's 4.6 I would 2.25" I did, and was not disappointed. If you're towing, though, I would get it done out the side, especially if it's animals you're towing. I used to have a picture of my rear exit exhaust system, not your avg setup. Body color rear bumper with cutouts and Gibson supertruck tips. A friend of mine had his done with 45* angles out the rear corners, with no tips and a slant cut end. Looked factory, and rumbled. I would do magnaflow for mufflers though. Nice rumble yet still civilized, and have been shown to make more power. Matter of personal taste on sound though.,,,,98

I would just go with 2.25" even if you have the 5.4l. It equates to about a single 3" and that is more than sufficient. Will keep the powerband lower in the rpms where you need it.

Good call. You can always put big tips on if you want the low megaphone sound, or big baloney tips if that's your thing. Helps it resonate.,,,,98
