Cat Back 4.6

Im looking for a cat-back for my 2004 4.6 STX. I find plenty for extended cab, but I have a regular cab.

I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I need some help. Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking for a cat-back for my truck also. I've seen most new cat-back systems are for the 5.4l. I assume that the cat-back would also work on the 4.6l. Can someone chime in if I'm wrong.

I thinking about going with the magnaflow system. Any 2004 4.6l owners recently installed a new cat-back system?

Instead of the full cat-back, I had a muffler shop weld in a Magnaflow 14256 SS muffler to the stock pipe and add a Magnaflow SS tip. Total cost $200. The sound is great and I saved $200. Here are some pics.

Also, others have been going through Performance Peddler and he has been hooking them up with what they need.

I just installed a magnaflow kit that exits infront of the right rear tire. I have never seen a Magnaflow kit like this offered, but they do for the 2004 F150. It came with a muffler that had two 2.5" openings in the rear, then 3.5" tips. Really nice looking, however it is not quiet.

ive heard several differnt exhausts out there, the quieter deeper sounding exhaust being the magnaflow mufflers. They sound really good. Then theres flowmaster that sound pretty good but i just dont like the tin can sound they have. If you want sound plus a good deep, ballsy growl, cut out your muffler and weld in straight pipe. It sounds great, and if you want louder than that, start removing cats! I cut out my muffler and added dual tailpipes....sounds great! Highly reccomened for some sound! Had my setup with tips installed for under 200 bucks.

I like that idea cincy, and the price. Did you purchase the muffler from the shop, or did you buy it and take it to them? What are the dimensions? Thanks.
