which headers?

Well my baby is going in the shop monday for the dreaded drip. No not that drip, the 5.4 head leak drip.

The mech will have the engine out, so he agreed to slap on a new set of headers for free if they were bolt on's IE he didn't have to spend any extra time making them fit. So my question to all you experts, which headers should I buy that are bolt ons, and is it even worth it seeing how I will keep the engine stock except for what is already done (chip, intake, exhaust).

Thanks in advance, Cajun

Well I guess from all the replies its best that I just keep the stock headers. She's going in the morning so I'll just save the money and buy some go fast goodies for my mustang.

Thumbs up Recomend JBA's

I can recommend the JBA's for the 5.4. Just put them on my 02 Screw with a 5.4 about 3 weeks ago and no problems since. No sound increase but, a noticable increase in power and pickup. They are expensive, but they are the only 14 guage SS coated header I found and they are a direct bolt on...no mods needed. P/N 1679-SJT is the titanium color coating, 1679-SJS is for the Silver (chrome) ceramic coating.

i was thinking either Pacesetter or JBA if you recomend JBA then i think the extra cash would be worth it. and what do you guess the change would be with the JBA headers be on the 4.6L?

JBA Shorty Headers

I have JBA Shorty Headers installed on my Supercrew. The performance improvement was somewhat noticable, and it improves the sound of your aftermarket exhaust if you have one. I would buy them again.

I think the JBA's for the 4.6 are around the same price as the 5.4. As I said before I didn't notice a sound increase but did get a nice performance increase. They are worth the money since they are 409 Stainless Steel, 14 guage thickness and need no mods to fit. If you look around you can find a set for under $700.

What do I do?????

To whoever reads this,
I am new to this site and hopefully I can stay here but for now I have a question for someone that knows a good bit about exhaust. I have a 1997 F-150 XLT and it has tons of acccsories on it, many of which I have put on myself but some where already on there. As far as exhaust goes, I have True Dual Turbo Straight Pipes with 12'' chrome tips. After putting them on it made it a good bit luder but I want it alot louder. I have asked many people what I should do to make it as loud as possible and I have gotten many different responces. So please someone hepl me. What can I put on my truck to make it as loud as possible??? Please responde via email. My email address is Clemsondude212@yahoo.com and my name is Cory.
