Flowmaster Super 40
Flowmaster Super 40
Ive got a 2001 F150 XLT extended cab, currently I have a Vortech single inlet, dual outlet muffler with tips.
I want to replace the Vortech with a Flowmaster Super 40 but am unsure of the part number to get. I'm going to keep the existing pipes, which I believe are 2.5" dual outlet..
Looking at Flowmaster's site, I couldnt even find a single inlet/dual outlet super 40 series muffler.

I am looking for the same part number although Im looking for the 2 1/4" offset SI/DO Super 40 Part Number.
I was told the Super 40 part numbers starts with a 9 so I think the 9424422 is the right part number but am trying to confirm.
I want to get the correct in size and out size, come on guys-those who have the flowmaster 40 series on their F150's, tell us the part numbers you have and set up recommendations ie. exhaust size pros & cons..etc etc
Thanks

I just got back from the local muffler shop and he's ordering me flomaster super 40 muffler NR 9430402 and a couple stainless wide oval exhaust tips. Having it done next week. Cost $330.
I researched purchasing individually the muffler at a cost of $57 + $10 shipping and the tips were $48 a piece with $10 shipping equaling $173. And then taking them in to get put on but seemed like around the same price..

I 'll post how I like it after next week!!

I just got a Superflow in today for my 2001. I'm going
cheap and just dropping the stock muffler, then
replacing with the Superflow. The only other thing I'm
adding is a tip. I'm looking at around $120 total. I'm
anxious to hear how it sounds.

I went with the offset because I wanted a not-so-
close to the frame fit. The center offset would have
left me VERY close to the frame. So I just went with
the offset to be sure I had enough room. I didn't
want to have to end up sending it back and
waiting on another.
I actually put the Flow on this morning and it sounds
pretty good. It's got the deep rumble I was looking
for and is not loud at all. I've got a three year old
daughter and our driveway is right by her bedroom
window. Anything louder than what I now would
wake her up when I leave early to go fishing or
hunting. If you have a kid...you'll understand what
I'm sayin'. My wife is not a happy camper when I
wake our daughter up at 5:30 in the a.m.

I have the Flowmaster super 40's on my 2002 F-150 Sport, I went with the Single offset inlet and the 2.5" dual outlet, But I went straight back with mine right below Bumber on each side of Spare.......The Sound is Unreal!!!! Love it to death, will never Change this System......
Ok. Got my Super 40 installed today. Center inlet, dual 2.5" outlet straight back with 3" tips (15" long or so). What a difference in sound!
The old Vortech (sp) is junk compared to the deep rich sound this Flowmaster puts out.

I'm happy.
