whats the best exhaust for performance?

i have a 1998 4.6L v8 f150 and would like to know which exhaust just gives you the most flat out power. Not just like a CAT kit but like headers and all back to the exit. Ive heard some good things about magnaflows... but what would be the best setup to run. thanks alot for you help.

I just put a Magnaflow cat back SI/DO on my 03 Heritage Edition 5.4 and I am seeing noticable power gains( 10 horse maybe), but nothing to really brag about. I can't really say what you'd see if you do headers and everything. I am happy with the magnaflow ca tback. The sound levels are perfect. Its deeper but not head pounding loud at a highway cruise speed, and she sounds real deep and throaty under some acceleration. I went with the magnaflow for two reasons. #1 there is not a part on the kit that is not stainless where as the flowmaster are alumanized steel and tend to rust out at least in this area. and #2 the magnaflow fit the truck without relocating the spare tire.
