Question straight pipes

I own a 98 f150 and want to install a cutoff valve right in front of the catalytic converter and run straight pipes but I am not sure if it would propose any problems with the engine because of the censors or if there would be enough backpressure. Basically it would be bipassing the catalytic converter and muffler. Would anybody know anything about how the best way is to do this or if it would cause any problems?
