Question Magnaflow catback 15609

I just installed my Magnaflow catback exhaust #15609, and I noticed that I only have about a 1/4" of clearance between my spare and the tailpipe... has anyone else had this problem? I have the 17" chromed steel rims and 265/70R17 tires on my 99 F-150 OFF-ROAD, with matching spare. I know that the exhaust will need some readjusting as I bang it around through regular driving, but with the brackets where they are I dont know if I can get much more clearance out of it. I tried turning the muffler to help pull the pipe out out of the way, but the rubber mounting bracket was way too forgiving for that to work. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'm all all ears(or eyes).

A friend of mine has a F350 Dually with the ATS dual 4" exhaust and one of his pipes is practically touching the spare and he hasn't had any problems.

My Gibson is very close as well and has done a little melting of the rubber, but very slight and nothing to worry about.

bear,

I thought the same thing when I did mine, I dropped the spare down a little bit and raise it back up tight while pulling it to the left and got about 1 inch of clearence. Hasn't been a problem.

I think I got it all worked out now, I didn't realize the spare tire would move over that far... thanks T-man. I also don't think that a little schorching is gonna hurt anything either. Sure do love that exhaust rumble, I think my throttle response is a lot crisper too!
Next is electric fans and under drive pulleys....

Thanks guys!
Keith
