stock muffler replacement

I'm thinking of replacing my stock muffler on my 03 SCREW 4X4 4.6 with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster. This would leave the rest of the exhaust stock. Has anyone tried this setup??

I did this with my 2004 f-150 stx. I had the muffler cut out and replaced with a Ravin Z-55. The only thing that had to be done was I had to have some extra pipe wielded in because the Ravin was shorter than the stock muffler. My only regret is I wish i would have had a Stainless steel tip Wielded on.
I hope this was of some help.

I did this on my 2001 s/cab 4X4 4.6 and I couldn't be happier. I had an 18" Magnaflow welded in and it sounds great. Its not real loud but you certainly know its not stock either. I had duals with no mufflers on my last truck and it nice too. This time I wanted something quieter since we seem to take it everywhere instead of the Accord. I didn't want the annoying highway drone. Anyway, I hope this helps.
I too, like dhutch, wish I would have the stainless tip put on but cash was tight at the time. I will make it back down there sometime.
