Question adding high flow cats to exsisting cat back system...

Howdy all, first time poster long time reader

the current exhaust setup on my 00' is stock headers, cats, stock y, magnaflow si/so muffler (#14580 i think, but am not 100% positive) 2.25" out to ss magnaflow tips (#35114).

i plan on adding some magnaflow high flow cats (1 to each side) but am wondering if now is the time to replace the stock y pipe and my current magnaflow muffler with a di/do (#14568 maybe?) or just got with a highflow y pipe and keep my current muffler.

would there be that much of a perfermance change that it would be worth the extra$?

im about to put on hi flo's on my 98 4.6 and then run true dual straight pipe (2.5") all the way out the back. I dont think your truck would see much of a torque loss by doing that, but i would keep the 2.5" pipe. From what ive heard, hi flo's make it considerably louder.

well... i thought about the straight pipes, but i really don't like the sound of them. imo, the magnaflow mufflers make em sound sweeeeet
