You may have lost alittle, not alot.

If you used the right sized pipe you are fine.
All you loose is acceleration.
I put true duals on my truck and i lost alittle bottom end, but i used 2.5 inch pipe, and for my engine they say to use 2.25. I dont really care though, it still goes.

What size pipe did you use?

Too big, you should have 2 inch(im pretty sure) But thats puny and looks bad. Did it feel like you lost power? If you want to get it back put like a flowmaster 30 or 70 series on. Wont sound as good, but it will give you more back pressure.

x-pipe

use next size down- 2" for your x-pipe- this will help get your velocity back up

Note to poepl who think that and H or X pipe will solve the back flow problem. There is NO need to pu these pipes because the firing order of the 4.2 v6 is even. and a v8 is odd, thats why you need one for a v8. so on your V6's the exhaust flows are already balanced.

True, a H pipe wont do anything, but a X pipe will get alittlle power back if you lost some because of the smaller area casued by the cross.

what if i were to run true duals 2.50 pipes and no mufflers on my 4.2 would i lose some power because i just put on an airaid intake and a helix power t-body spacer and will do my underdrive pulleys when i do my exhaust if i dont do headers.

Cool

I really hate to say this, but......you really don't have true duel exhaust. What you have is a y-pipe at the end of the head pipes that has two separate pipes with mufflers running back. It's great from a looks standpoint and not too shabby on the performance end. To have real duel exhaust, you would have to purchase additional catylitic coverters for the second pipe.....and guess what, no muffler shop will do it without you signing a wavior because the Federal & state smog laws just don't allow such a modification...Yup, you'll fail the visual inspection at the smog test. I invite anyone who would like to see real duel exhaust to come by and take a peek at my 65 shelby...

not necessarily so

if they undid the y pipe from each headpipe and ran a pipe to a muffler from each bank -why isn't this true duals?
