New Gibson exhaust sucks

Sorry guys I gotta vent! Just finished installing my new Gibson split dual exhaust. What a pain in the @#$! I was NOT able to leave my spare tire in no matter how I manipulated the spare. I have a standard cab, flareside, Sport package. I guess the bigger tires on the Sport package caused the problem. Still would of been nice if Gibson posted an * stating that the Sport truck cannot use the spare like they do with the 4X4.

After getting over that I will have to keep the &^%$*&^ spare tire in the bed from now on I was excited to start the truck up anyway and here the sound of the new exhaust. I read a lot of posts and did some research, being a skeptic with the 4.2 I heard good results.

I sure don't understand those people who got excited about this system because I think it sucks! No rumble no nothing. I think my truck is now quieter than with the stock exhaust system. Honestly the factory muffler had more of a rumble. Damn, I am seriously bummed out!

I am even thinking about having the factory exhaust put back on. I'm gonna go and get the friggen Gibson box out of the trash now, so I can sell this worthless friggen thing on Ebay! Gibson needs to wake up! Future purchasers, don't waste your money or your time on this POS !

i partially agree...

i had the split dual on my 4.6 crew. i also had to remove the spare, which indeed sucked. a good exhaust note was only achieved when i installed the gibson hedders. i can imagine how quiet it would be on the 4.2. i thought it was still a good quality system, just more drawbacks than good things...

Sorry to hear about that system. I have a 4.2 and have a nice sounding exaust. I suggest a flowmaster muffler with the stock diamiter pipe if you have an auto trans. If you have a stick, have your local muffler shop put together a 3" cat back single outlet like your stock system with a flowmaster. That's what I have and I think you will be pleased with the sound and power. People love the way my truck sounds. I think that some of these cat back systems like the gibson are way over rated and over priced. Local muffler shops can give you the same mandrel bends in the pipes that these companys sell thier system with. Good luck , Mark M

Does anyone have experience with the swept side single exhaust by Gibson? I really like the way it looks and might be considering one after Christmas.
