I have a 1986 F 150 4X2 with a 5.8L V-8 H.O. It is in great condition, yet always lacked the sound of a mean small block Ford. Until recently that is. I have just installed a Gibson "Super Truck" cat back exhaust sytem. The system cost $350.00, and was well worth it. It sounds awesome!!! Finally a system for a great ford engine for little money. I will keep you posted on the performance. They don't sell systems for a 1986 Ford, but they do for 1987...yet there is NO difference between the 86 or the 87 5.8L. So I gave it a shot and LOVE it!!!!! Thanks Gibson!!!

 

Does anyone know if a straight six 1986 f150 is the same? Can I look for a system for the '86 by going to the '87?

Basically, I need to replace the muffler system pronto, so why not put something on that I like instead of the cheapos.

Any recommendations?
