Angry Getting off...

OK...I got the passenger side O2 sensor replaced, but getting it off was a real bugger.

Now I'm trying to get the driver side O2 sensor off, and I just don't think it's possible. I have a 4x4 and the drive shaft is in the way just enough that I can't even squeek out a 1/16 of a turn. Can't approach it from the wheel well cuz it's turned away just a bit too far.

Does anyone have any hints as to how to get that f#%@ little piece of $h*t outta there????

I'm running out of patience...and a cutting torch is looking like a pretty good solution right about now.

Any help is always (and in this instance) tremendously appreciated...Scott

(I need several right now)

cutting torch

Thanks...but no need to respond unless you've got information to help others...and I'm sure they'd appreciate the advice.

Both are now installed but not without nearly setting a record of various and colorful 4-letter words (that I'm sure my neighbors enjoyed).

It's amazing what a cutting torch can do! The sensors are replaced. Remeber that 4 WD drive-shaft that was in the way??? Well, I now have 3-wheel drive

The trick was some liquid wrench, a bigger wrench and a wrenched shoulder...oh yeah...more 4-letter words too.

I think I'll have several

My God, dude, you cut your driveshaft off?
That's dedication, my friend. My truck had me so mad today, but now I realize how much madder I could have been. I never thought about my cutting torch.

I was mad as hell and the thought of just cutting everything out of the way was very temping.

Fortunately and eventually, I was able to coax the two sensors out. Between that and doing a quick clean on the throttle body, I was able to tell a bit of difference in the throttle responce by the Seat-Of-My-Pants Meter.

I'm thankful I don't have to deal with those for a while.

Next task.....Wrenching the mechanical fan off it perch and installing electric fans kit.

Wish me luck

Um, hindsight being 20/20 and all, would it have been easier to just pull the exhaust manifold, stick it in a vise, an wrench the heck out of it? Seems like that would have been less trouble.
