What size engine? That is all that matters in what size muffler. In general, the smaller the canister, the louder. Are you going with two mufflers? DIDO? SIDO? SISO?

I am not sure about the pipe size, a call to Mike Troyer, he should be able to tell you that one.

As for running 2 mufflers, are you looking at removing the stock Y pipe, and putting in a X pipe, and 2 SI/SO mufflers ?

Or is this a case of you want to have 2 pipes exiting, and would have a SI/DO muffler ?

I have not seen a install of leaving the stock Y pipe, adding another Y pipe back to 2 SI/SO mufflers yet, kind of a waste of money to do that. Not much to be gained by going stock Y to 2 SI/SO mufflers, and it might be quiter then stock if you did that.

Another question is what does true duals, do to the 4.6L engine. I know what it does to a 5.4, but I don't know how well the 4.6L takes to true duals. Again a call to Mike Troyer and he would be able to let you know if it is a good idea to true dual a 4.6L.

SIDO is probably all you want and keep the stock y-pipe. 2.5" in and dual 2.25" out.
