Flowmaster or straight pipes

I have a 98 4.6 f150 i was wondering if the the flowmaster 40 is close to the loudness of straight pipes? also has anyone here done straights on a 98 i heard from an exhaust shop i couldnt do it because the o2 sensors

I'm pretty sure you can get something to mask the oxygen sensor, though I'm not sure how reliable these things are or how much they cost. Otherwise, you could just buy high-flow cats.

I've got straights on my truck, split out the sides near the rear. Had them for about a year, absolutely no problems. Very nice rumble at idle, gets loud above 2000 rpms, howls at redline. As long as you don't remove the 4 catalytic converters you won't have a problem with your O2 sensors.

i have straights on my 98 4.6 split tips out the rear. It sounds really good-better than any muffler.

Here's some more reassurance for you. I've gone straight pipes on both my 2000 and 2001 f-150. I dualed them right where they join together on both. That makes it easy for the shop to do and keeps you well behind all the emissions junk. No problems over about 20k on each truck.
