Question Looking to quiet/change pitch

I'm looking to quiet down the Bassani SS 3" si/so on my truck. It also has the Y pipe mod. 01 5.4 Scab.

Problem is that at 1800 to 2000 rpm or so it has a drone on the highway that bugs me. Looking to to either change the pitch a little higher and/or quiet it down a little. It's not bad at all in the city.

The rear floor, back wall and all 4 doors have been done with B-Quiet.

As of now it has the single ~4 1/2" tip. Any thoughts on tip size(Not *that* tip, RP) or resonator/baffle? The exhaust is only a year or so old in good shape so I don't wanna start hacking on it too bad YET.

Update. I ordered a Hooker() resonated tip from Jegs so I'll give that a try.

Put on the Hooker resonated tip this afternoon. Jury is still out, but it does seem to be a little quieter than the Bassani 2 liter bottle that came with the cat back. The body has fiberglass packing inside.

Fit was a little better than the supplied one from Bassani as it's 10" long instead of the too long 12 incher.

Downside is that it is black in color at the clamp area, chrome for the body and Red inside. The red part seems to be a little ricey, but a little paint will take care of that if need be.

A day or two will tell.

I've run the Hooker resonated tip for about 3 weeks now and like it better than the Bassani one.

This tip seems to make the sound less harsh while quieting it down some and reducing the drone I had before. So it's staying on at least for now.

You can also try having a resonator installed between the muffler and the tailpipe. It worked well for me.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

As someone once said, "If it's too loud, I'm too old."

ChiDriver, I believe I've seen that phrase on many a KISS t-shirt.
