I have one on a '95 F-150 w/ 351 (5.8L). It has a nice sound but it VERY quiet. It doesn't have the volume I was looking for. I didn't want to shake the neighborhood, but I wanted to be able to hear it. Too quiet on that truck, IMO.
Check out the American Thunder full catback systems.

I have one on my ’97 4.2L, it has a fairly decent rumble at idle up to about 3000 rpm. Past that and it gets really high and whiny mostly due to the fact that its a six cylinder. While listening to someone drive it around it doesn’t have that really raspy sound of the original 40 series too. Overall I am very pleased with it, the clip on exhaustsoundclips.com sound very similar too it. But from yor sig it says you have a 4.6L so you should get louder and more “heartier” sound
I have duals with an X pipe on my 98 4.6. But I have the 40 series "original". I am very pleased with it. Depending on what sound you like you'll be pleased with it too. I'd personally like to have mine just a little louder. Unlike most guys on here I like the "irritating" road noise. Good luck you'll like it.
