To Tip? or not to Tip?

hey ya'll

last night i cut and added a flowmaster 40 in place of the stock muffler. i am really happy with the sound.

my question is. other then enhancing the look. does adding 3 inch ss tips really change the sound that much ? or is it more for the look?

if it makes a big difference in sound i will get them put on tonight but if its more for looks then i am going to use the same money to have a few of my cats cut off. and befor any of the anti cat cutting ppl jump in yes i know about the o2 sencors and no i dont have emisions in my state lol. besides i got four damn cats WTF is that about haha atleast two of those bad boys are getting choped

anyhow let me know

I have the 5.4 v8 and recently bought the flow 40 delta and a 3.5 in tip. I only installed the tip and boy does it sound great.... Check out the sound at my site. Its listed under the Ford 5.4s and is listed as a stock exhaust with a 3.5 in tip. Judging on the sound of just the tip I would definatly install a tip with the flow....

so by just adding a simple tip will change the sound? I have a 4.6 and stock muffler on it still. By what you said it will change the sound, how much of a difference? Just some simple q's.

Keep in mind.. The volume of te sound did not increase at all. Still as quiet as stock only meaner and deeper sounding. I like the sound alot.
