To Weld, or not to Weld: this is the question!

HI!

Is it better to weld a SS magnaflow system or just bolt it on?

I'm going to have to make that decision soon enough, when I scrap my Flowmaster set-up.

Thanks for any imput!

I have to admitt that I still have the stock exhaust on my truck. But, I would weld. It is the only to garuntee a seal. I hear those band clamps are pretty good, but would use that, then weld.

BTW, I thought you were going to repace the y-pipe? Also, you mentioned getting electric fans either before or after the exhaust. I would say before, because you already have something better than stock.

Hey APT~

Yup, I'm just trying to hash out my options. I'm going to get the fans from mike, next, then throttlebody and battery upgrade (Optima), but I have decided that the finishing touch will be the SS exhaust w/ y-pipe. I was wondering about a vavle body and/or shift kit, but that is a little too invasive for my comfort level,, esp. since I still hav ethree years on my warranty. I should be have this done by the end of Summer. Too many things to do, but the process is fun!

Thanks for the imput!
