Magnaflow installed (#15609)

Well, I came home find that brown had been snooping around the yard but had left me a nice BIG box..

My new exhaust had finally arrived!

After getting through all the stuffing and foam, I inventoried everything and then proceeded to remove the stock system. I had a little trouble getting the crimped pipe off from the muffler and the now free-hanging pipes that wouldn't come off becuase of the cross member. So, I said SCrew it and got the dremel out and cut the bastage off... This took the longest at about 45 minutes beacuse I was wrestling with it for a while to try to get it out w/out cutting it. Wasn't going to happen. Cutting took all of 10 minutes (hey, it's only a dremel )

Installed the Magnaflow cat-back (#15609) and it fit up like a champ. The systems uses the stock hangers, minus the front hangar that it doesn't need. Cranked her up and WOW!

Big difference in sound. Totally quiet at idle with a definte lower growl that can't even tell inside the cab. Step on the gas and the deep, mellow tone loudens as you progressively step on the gas more. When it starts up, it has a very commanding "wooomm" that when I cranked it up this morning, I just smiled.

I took it for a spin on the highway and some back roads last night and you can't even tell the difference in sound when you're at speed. Step on it though and it lets you know it is there!

As for performance: It does rev up faster, I noticed a definite SOTP improvement and for physical proof - I started off from a stop sign normally at about 1/4 throttle, got to about 10mph and then went about 3/4 throttle. Whoa! I chirped the tires and backed off. I did it again just to see if it was just a fluke, same thing... I have never been able to do that from any speed (not that I want to, but it can now). I have limited slip and the only thing it would do before would spin them for a couple of seconds from a stop. I haven't done it yet and don't intend to, but I bet I would smoke the tires now if I stomped on it from a standstill...

As for highway power, seems to climb easier and I popped up to 90 before I knew it..

Slo down nah... (In true SNL form, "simmah down nah")

Great purchase! The wife likes it too and it looks great! I need to snap a picture of it and the old system, which was friggin huge!

Definitely sounds like a winner! I will have to look into getting this. Where did you order from and how much $?

Looking forward to the pics.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. I'm fixin' to order the same from Troyer. Supposedly this system adds up to 22 hp, and not lose torque, bottom end. That is what most screw owners should be concerned about if they want improved mileage.

Anyway, thats great news.I may have to make that call and spend some cash... well, credit.. )

Winner it is....

I am loving it... Still getting used to it a little but every time I crank her up, I smile. Such a cool sounding "Woooommm" sound that doesn't "wap-wap-wap-wap" like my Bronco did with the SuperTurbo and the Ravin POS...
