Cheap and LOUD exhaust question

What is the easiest exhaust option for some loud dual exhaust rear exit pipes? Im looking for a bolt on with no welding that will eliminate my muffler and sound good. Any body know how to do this? I am also not very familiar with the stock esxhaust setup as I just purchased the truck.

The cheapest is to cut out the factory muffler, put in a stragiht pipe, then a y-pipe, then dual tail pipes. There are no bolt up kits without mufflers. Flowmaster 40 series mufflers are loud for a muffler, but I don't care for the type of sound.

The stock system is 4 cats, two per side, then a 2.5" dual in to 2.5" out y-pipe (that is of poor design), a highyl resctrictive muffler, and 2.5" tail pipe out the right side behind the rear wheel.

I believe most of the aftermarket systems bolt up right after the stock y-pipe and that is without welding.

Take a look around here and search for some old posts. There are a lot of exhaust systems, some good, others not, some loud, others not. The Gibson Supertruck is popular and supposed to medium-loud (dependng who you talk to) sound levels.

Welding a custom setup will be cheaper than buying any kit. I have heard of dual out setups for $170 installed.

you want loud? Cut the Y pipe and run 2 2.5" pipes with a X pipe, all the way out under the rear bumper with chrome tips. This would cost around 200-250 and would require welding, but if you want sound, this is it. And if you ever get caught and need to weld in mufflers, cheap cherry bomb glass pakcs could easily be welded right up.

I would recommend getting an X-Pipe to put after the cats then straight piping it out the back with SS tips not chrome! Mike T can sell you the X-pipe for a decent price and it helps gain back some of the low end you lose by opening up your exhaust.
