Dynomax?
Hey 2winturbo, too bad about not being able to get the Gibson locally. I think you would have liked it. I don't know what to think about the whole "it's not a real gibson" issue. I had some Dynomax Drag Masters on my '86 Stang. I liked them, but the front and rear welds around the in/out broke after a little over a year. I then went with Flo-Pro. They came with a life time warranty on the welds. Only had the car for about six months before trading it for the F150. Now, the Dynomax I had was not a "Truck" muffler. The truck ones I saw from Dynomax were round, just like Gibson's and the like. No idea what they sounded like.

Dynomax's parent company is the largest mfgr of exhaust products in the world. The mufflers are warranted for life. Why don't you order Gibson or any brand you like online , rather then try to find it locally?

It's not that I wont order online, it's just that the local speed shop carried the DynoMax and he sells a ton of them. I believe the price is quite a bit cheaper. Not sure how it compares to the competition but from I heard todyA they are supposed to have a better sound. I was looking at the Ultra Flow SS system single in dual out. Thanks for the info.
Does any one have any experience with the Dynomax exhaust systems. No shops carry Gibsons local to me but one place mentioned this system. After reading some posts about Gibson not making their own products it put a little doubt in my mind. I am curious to know what else is out there that might be cheaper but without losing any performance compared to the Gibson. ALso any one know the website of the Ravin exhaust systems? Any help would be extremely helpful.

Dynomax makes very good inexpensive mufflers. I have a 3"in/3"out ultra flow on my car. I personally think they make the best flowing muffler, but I have heard that they tend to rot out with time. My car doesn't get driven in the rain so I don't have any personal experience with rusting out. However, it is very load. They also make a turbo line which isn't as load but doesn't flow as much.

You might want to look into SpinTech mufflers. http://www.spintechmufflers.com/ As for Ron if you call. I just put their cat-back on my truck and the sound is increditable! I have a Gibson on my Suburban (quiter) and Flow Masters on my Mustang (louder) and there really isn't any comparison in sound quality. I'll be dumping the FM's soon to put SpinTechs on. The SpinTech just sounds better period.
Of course that's just my opinion, actual results may vary, void where prohibited, must be 18 years of age (in most states).

2winturbo- Dynomax's turbo muffler is called "Super Turbo"; it is a multi-pass, mellow, moderate flow muffler. The Ultra flow is nothing the same; it's a straight through, loud/throaty, high flow muffler. Did you check out the Dynomax website?
I got prices on Gibson, Dynomax, and Ravin systems. Seeing how I have 9 mos. old twin boys at home, price is defintely a factor. Looks like I will be going with Dynomax. I got a price for an ultra flow ss muffler, with tail pipe and head pipe for $205.00 and a local shop said he will mount it up for $50. One last decision is do I want the Ultra low or the turbo-flow. I was always a fan of the late model Mustang sound and that is what I would like to duplicate if possible. Is this the right choice or do I need something else or a different system.
Please help!!!!!

I heard/read that DynoMax's UltraFlow out-flowed borla and flowmaster, that's why I picked DynoMax. As pricing goes, if you go with a direct-fit muffler and pipes, it's not too expensive...but why would you want the same tiny pipe?

On my 2000 Lariat, I went with the Stainless UltraFlow Muffler w/ single 3" pipe. Seems like, if I can remember right, the front pipe jumped from about $17 for stock... to $55 for the 3" pipe. Muffler, about $130...I think. Rear pipe was $40 for stock and $120 for 3" with Stainless tip.
BTW, if you're looking for a **different** look for the Dual-out-the-back, that seem to look just like all the other f150's on the road...
You might try Dynomax's UltraFlow with dual exits at the rear...with their Stainless "Import Tips" ...I just installed a system, and they look great.
Installation Tip: you might need to shorten your rear extension pipes a few inches, so the tips won't stick out too far...and a *clean* little weld will look better on the "Import" style tips; shouldn't use clamps.
Oh well...
I also went with the Dyno Ultra. Buffalo where did you buy yours. I paid $152 for the front pipe, Ultra muffler, and stock enry tail pipe. I also went with 3" pipe with the SS tip. I did not buy the SS muffler, it has a lifetime warranty so I went with aluminum. I also got a $25 rebate. They muffler shop had to bend the end of the tail pipe a little so it would point more towards the back. Otherwise it sounds great! very happy I went with dyno.
