Question Borla Cat-back Question

I'm strongly considering the Borla split-rear cat-back exhaust for my 4x4 Supercrew. I was just wondering if there is any problem w/ this system around the spare tire area? I'm running 285/75-16's & have a matching spare, and was wondering if there would be any interference. I've not seen how the pipes are routed.

Thanks in advance.

Don't fret over it, ChrisS. The system was actually designed by engineers with an actual truck to work with. The pipes hug the lines of the undercarriage like spaghetti around your tonsils. PLENTY of room around your spare. Took the boys at Midas exactly 17 minutes to put mine of once the box was opened. Go for it. Unless, of course, you want obnoxious noise. Then go for one of them flowmaster things. Borla will provide you with wonderful deep warbling. No drone. No loss of low end. HP gain. If you want noise, go with anything else.

Question

Has anyone that installed the Borla system experienced a seat-of-the-pants power loss?
Just curious. I'm looking to add a Superchip and cat back system, and just doing some homework before I purchase anything.

Don't know how well this picture illustrates it, but the pipes don't get any closer than 4 - 5 inches from the spare. I have the ORP with the 17" spare. The pipes actually hang below and well outside of the frame rails.

T
O'HF150,

I just installed the Borla cat back along with Gibson headers and had no low end loss. There is a big improvement at the 2000 rpm on up.

CrisS, Get the Borla, it is well worth the money and will not get in the way of your spare at all. The sound is great and install is a snap.

I too am running a Borla Catback Dual out the back in my 2000 F/S. I have about 6" of clearance over the axle. With no problems with clearance on the spare(P255 70R 16).
