Talking Anyone done a exhaust system change on V-10 engine Yet?

Just curious if anyone has added a different exhaust system to their V-10 F250 Super Duty. Would like to know about the system and it's results. Thanks....

I went the Borla route. Cat-back and headers. The Borla cat-back adds just a bit more sound, nothing annoying. Look here for the header install https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000350.html

Check out the Superduty section for more info. Just a warning, the V10 does not sound like a V8. Some exhaust mods do not sound good on the V10. You might also check out www.ford-diesel.com in the gas engine section.

The Borla isn't much louder than stock. The headers did add a bit of rumble. It doesn't sound anything like a big block. Doesn't sound like a 6 cyl either. With the wrong muffler tho they do sound terrible. Some have compared it to a sick 6cyl.

Just talked to FLOWMASTER. They have just came out with a complete catback system for F250-F350 with V10. Part number is 17229. I called local flowmaster dealer can get in the morning for $220.00 cash and cary.

If I get it will have to let everyone how it sounds. And how hard to install.

Got my kit Fiday. Took about an hour to install. Very complete and easy to do. As for the sound, it is not what I expected. I was hoping it would be a little louder. It is just slightly louded than stock, but has more of a rumble. I guess it is OK. It does not sound like a sick six cylinder, thank goodness....

Wonder why the V10's sound the way they do...I figured they'd sound bad as hell!!! I heard a Dodge V10 once with true duals (I think) and 4" tips...sounded like an EXTREMELY LOUD 4 banger!!! BTW, I just had my old Flowmaster 40 installed on the ol' lady's 2000 Sunfire, and I'm impressed!!! Didn't even fire up the beast once today.

I have the gibson duel installed, it sounds real mellow but has some howl to it under load but all in all pretty good.

Jackal,

You're closer to being right than you think. I believe the Dodge fires 2 cylinders at the same time. SO.. maybe a big 5!

Red face

How come it is so difficult to get the big V-10 engine to sound like the V-8? Just seems so unreal that you cannot get the same sound or even something better.
