Any opinions on what type of tips to finish off new exhaust?
I just got a true dual setup installed on my
truck and love the sound. The shop only put
on some el cheapo tips though. I don't
really care for how they look. Does anybody have any good suggestions for finishing off
an exhaust setup? A friend recommended tips
made by hooker. They are supposed to be
made of aluminum to prevent corrosion? I
trust nobody will recommend the HUGE garbage
can tips!

I just got true duals put on my truck also, great sound, well worth the extra money for them. I have 4" chrome tips that are 18" long. They are slash cut, and look great on my truck.

Jimmy Lee, those things are huge! How do you
keep all the tar and road crap off 'em? I
was looking for something smaller and easier
to keep clean. I had tips a little smaller
than yours on a 95 and couldn't keep them
clean. They gave it a nice deep sound
though. Are they stainless or chrome?

I just had a Ravin Z55 dual out the back setup put on my SCrew. I ordered the Ravin' VP1311 rolled edge, rounded square tips.
I am really glad I got them, they're sharp. even the shop guys were saying how sweet they looked.

I have 22" stainless steel 3 1/2 slash tips. The truck looks great!

My neighbor, Vern, took a large oil funnel as a mold and crumpled an aluminum pie pan around it. Then he used liquid nails and glued it to his tail pipe. Vern drives a Tundra. Looks cool! That inspired me to to take a couple of Campbell soup cans as tips, but I welded them on and painted them Royal Blue to match my interior. Yup. Gurlz just love my truck. At least, that's what Vern and Louise say.
Wall, SilverScrew. It were a larnin' experience fer me. My first attempt, I nailed the soup cans on....just to see how they looked and sounded. When I was satisfied that was the look I was yearnin' for, I waited till my wife, Betty Sue, cooked up a big pot of Bean w/Bacon soup and some grits. I had two new cans to use. When I welded them on, them labels just burned right up!! (and I put a scorch or two, accidental-like, on the chromy part of my bumper, altho', truth be told, I think the scorch on the left side was from puttin' out the little fire from the label)
Anyway, I realized that scorched tips wasn't the look I was shootin' fer. So I ripped them puppies off and waited a week till Betty Sue fixed a big pot of Chicken and Stars. (My favorite....I luv them stars).
THIS time....I welded them on AFTER I removed the labels, THEN painted. Do you realize them labels just come right off?
I think I may be changing them tips again, tho'. Last Saturday, Betty Sue brought home some Progresso Soup. Man, THEM cans are big as hell!! I figure they'll add another 25hp to my system. What chew think?
