Talking TRUE DUALS, NO MUFFLERS ON MY 5.4

Just got my truck back yesterday, true duals (I had them split the factory "Y" pipe & run 2 1/4" pipes from there out the back with no mufflers. I really like it, I figured it was worth a shot (straight pipes) because if I figure it's too loud I can always add what ever mufflers seem like they would be appropriate. All of the factory cats & sensors were untouched. I had 3 inch dia crome tips put on the ends 24 inches long with a rolled slash cut end. She really barks when you get into the gas but it's a deep tone, sounds like a big block. It mellows out at crousing speed, I like it.

Question

Curious...
Don't you have to pass an annual inspection?

    Cool

Ticket,...absolutely! Annual inspection,...nope. The more I drive it the more I think I need to add a cross over tube. I'll see what that does to the sound then if I think it's still too loud I can ad some mufflers. For right now I'm having a blast!
I guess I can compare it to my 78 f-150 with a 400, no cats, dual exhaust through 2 1/4" pipes & a couple of glass packs about 20" long. I haven't gotten in trouble with that one yet, I'm crossing my fingers. Really though I live in a pretty small town, as long as I'm nice & easy on the peddle when leaving my neighborhood in the mornings for work I'll be ok. I may sneak the cross over tube in on Friday, I'll keep you posted.

only certain states have vehicle inspections because a lot of states have eliminated them for some reason. i know down here they cancelled them about a year ago, and i've been running straight pipes with no cats since then. man, i love the way my truck sounds!
