Question Magnaflow installed..have question

I had my 18" Magnaflow 3" SI/SO w/3" mandrel bent tailpipe installed on my 5.4L last week and I'm loving it. Nice throaty sound. However, I do have a question. The truck seems to shift into overdrive real quick, unless I'm really getting on it....is this normal? Do I need to do something in order for the truck to recognize the new exhaust?

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "really quick" what MPH are you at when it changes.

At mild throttle positions the OD shift will happen. It becomes more pronounced in your mind hearing the exhaust. You can reset your computer to speed up the computer learning, but my guess is that this will not help you.

Upon normal acceleration, it will shift through all the gears even before I'm at 40 mph or so.....

My Screw with the 4.6 would change gears(during normal acceleration) about every 10 mph until 4th gear at 40 MPH.

With the Superchips Microtuner installed it shifts to 4th at about 43-45 MPH now.

So I would say if it gets 4th close to 40MPH, that is normal. You may have changed the backpressure enough to change the shift point a little.
