Post Decisions

Getting new exhaust should I go with a flow master dual chamber single in dual out or true dual dynomax racemagnum bullets, Im just worried I wont pass inspection with true duals, also anyone know if you gotta get your truck inspected in your home town or what?

As a general statement torward the inspection, I would think that as long as the cats are still intact and you start the true dual system after them, you should be fine. I've seen other posts on here where they have cut out the "Y" (after the cats) and just continued with 2.25" pipe all the way back with NO mufflers.... In Washington state, you can go to any state inspection place you want for the certification. I have never seen any inspector check under my vehicles. If they see two exhaust pipes, they just put in two "sniffers" and run the test.

No idea on Texas inspectors......

As far as going with Flowmaster SI/DO compared to true duals, I don't know for sure what advantage/disadvantage there is, but you'll probably get more sound (louder) with the true dual setup. Again, not sure on that one. I went with a SI/SO Gibson SS, so probably not too qualified on an answer for that. Good Luck!

True duals on this configuration is illegal in every state, it's a Federal law (The Clean Air Act). States cannot supersede the law and eliminate it, only strengthen it. This is why no exhaust mfgr makes a "true dual kit". Many people create/install these and pass relaxed testing due to the gray area regarding the vast array of vehicle configurations. Technically, the cat is part of the headpipe (not a bolt on) down to the first connection behind the Y. This whole section is to remain intact. I'm in NO WAY trying to say people don't install, benefit, or pass inspection with these, just trying to provide information. The law is simply not enforced somewhere down the line. The Clean Air Act and The Texas Clean Air Act is there for anyone to read. Here's a sample (#7): http://es.epa.gov/oeca/ore/aed/comp/jcomp/j11.html For your other questions: You inspect in the county the vehicle is registered in, and on single in/dual out systems, you do not increase output with 2)outs over what feeds them; 1)in. You can get all the flow necessary with your application by using the proper size single pipe if you prefer.
