SpinTech exhaust?
Has anyone heard anything about this exhaust company? A dealer here in Hawaii is saying that the popularity of this exhaust system is growing really fast here and it's supposed to be really big in California.
According to him, he planned to sell only flowmaster products. Upon putting in his order of flowmasters from a mainland distributor, they laughed and told him about the popularity of the spin tech stuff. He took a gamble and went with spin tech and now his shop is swamped with customers from rice burners to SUV's. Anyway that was his story.
Any information would be great. Reason is a couple of my friends have done it (1 dodge RT, 1 Tundra)and they love it. I haven't heard them yet but the guy with the dodge removed his flowmaster two chambers for the spin tech and loves it. Help me out cause I can get a good deal if I act now.
They do have a web site. Do a search and it should come up.

The Spin Tech exhaust is actually a really sweet set up. My friend has a 5.4 f150 and he has a Spin Tech exhaust on it dumped off the side and he loves it. He had a 40 series DF Flowmaster on it and he wanted a change. To be honest the Flowmaster was louder but the Spin Tech felt and performed so much better. I have been in his truck with the Flowmaster and the Spin Tech and I like the performace of the Spin Tech better, but I love the sound of the Flowmaster. But don't get me wrong, the Spin Tech exhaust still sounds BEEFY.

Thanks for the reply. That has been the same type of comments that this dealer said his customers were making.
The guy seems really honest and as soon as I get to hear the set up on one of his previous customers (5.4 expy)I will make my decision. Since sooo many people have the flowmasters I kind of like the idea of having something different. The increased performance would be a definate plus.

Thanks for looking that up. These mufflers are looking better and better. The guy down here says that you can select a number of mufflers depending on the type of sound you are interested in. The larger the can the quieter it is. He said that all the 5.4's that he has done so far (about three) where done with the 22" cans (mufflers). These are the milder ones. If I do mine he will put the shorter and louder 16" cans on mine. If I decide to do it I'll post my impressions. You can count on it. Hopefully I will run into someone who is running some Flowmaster 40's so I can compare.

well I gots the spintech muffler on a catback system and to be honest I love it...It is a truly unique sound I guess...Definitly not as loud as the flowmaster but not as screamy either...It's a nice tight sound but performance is what really kicks ***...Honestly the difference is very very noticable...I was actually quite surprised...I highly recommend them for the person who wants performance first and sound second...Like I said the sound is unique...but I love it...anyway just my two cents
Black Sunshine, did you buy a complete cat-back from SpinTech or did you have a custom setup put on?
I had a Gibson SS in my garage waiting on my truck to come in when we decided to put it on my neighbors truck. Now my truck is here and before I order another Gibson, I want to find out as much as I can about ST.

I just had my exhaust done. It consists of one Spintech (3336)muffler, single in dual out behind the rear wheels. I don't remember the diameter of the pipes, I need to get back to the shop and find that out.
I've been driving it around for three days now and I really like it. It's pretty mellow at idle but I love the sound when you get on it. My mom has a 92 mustang 5.0 (stock)and now when I come home everyone thinks its her car. Before the exhaust no one would even notice I pulled into the yard.
I can't compare it to anything else because I haven't heard any other system. If that changes I'll post my thoughts.
Performance wise I feel that the throttle response has improved and I've noticed some increase in performance.

Would you by any chance have some pics of your exhaust system? I was thinking about Gibson's Dual Sport because I like the single in/dual out look. But from your reviews, it sounds like I would like the Spin Tech better. Are the tips stainless steel or is the whole system stainless steel like Borla? Also, how much did you get the systems for?
Mine is also custom made catback. The shop I got mine done at only has stainless steel tips so thats what I got. I ended up with 2 1/4 tips because they were out of the 3" tips.
Sounds great. Nice tight, crisp, deep sound. Like I said in my first post, my friend with the dodge R/T switched his flowmaster 40's for this setup and loves it. Not as loud but there is no in cab drone. I haven't turned my radio on since I had the exhaust done.

I'll have pics shortly of it...I took them just haven't had the chance to develop them...And I have 3 inch stainless tips...Oh yeah one more tip...When you get your exhaust my suggestion is to get them mounted flush with your bumper cause a friend of mine had them sticking about 3 to 4 inches past his bumper and he cut his leg real bad on them...The tips become very sharp after about a year...and when I say real bad, I mean 25 stitches real bad...
I just ordered an XL(muffler only), they do have a cat back system, it runs $450.00 and uses a Dr.Gas cross over and a di/do muffler your choice of out the back or 2 to the side.
