loss of torque?
i would like to add flowmaster dual exhaust to my truck but have heard i could lose torque. does any one know if this is true and if so how much torque would i lose. 2000 f150 4x4 lariat 5.4l 3.55ls
Mud,
I just got back from having true duals installed with two 50 series Flowmasters and an H pipe. I actually gained low end torque. I did have the Gibson Supertruck and that is designed to make power in the upper RPM range at the sacrifice of some low end power. I feel like I gained back what I lost and more. The Flowmasters don't even compare to the Supertruck as far as loudness, but they do have a deeper tone to them. I get no in cab drone, but when I accelerate the Flowmasters come alive. I think you would be hard pressed to lose any low end with a system like this and I would be surprised if you didn't actually gain some. Hope this helps.

had f/m delta 50 single in-dual out(not a true "dual" exhaust) on my 97 xlt 4.6. yes- i lost torque--don't know how much but felt slower on acceleration.

The latest issue of "Sport Truck" shows an
increase in Low end torque ( 2800 rpm ) with the install of a K&N cat back.
I experianced an increase in torque after installing a Gibson Cat Back. I pull a hill at 71 mph in over-drive instead of 64 mph.

I may have gained little but I definitely didn't lose any. I couldn't spin tires before mods and still can't. But it does seem to pull harder. At least the ricer boys i compare to drop faster now
. Don't you love that you can outrun some tiny little car with a huge 4x4.
