Question Cats On a 96 F-150

I have a 96 F-150 I want to make true duals but I heard that if you take off both cats it will screw up the computer in the truck. Can I take both off or maybe just one without screwing anything up?

Where I live you have to have a cat. But I removed both cats and replaced them with one high flow cat. The only thing that might be a problem is the three oxygen sensors. One on each header and one somewhere around the cats. My exhaust guy says it's not a problem to go to true duals, I just haven't wanted to go that far yet.
