Post FM 40's SI/DO HOW MUCH?

How much was yours installed and what size pipe and tips do you recommend? (I have a 4.6 with the exhaust out the side in front of the rear tire) Thanks. Also, how much extra is it to have the tips out the back corners rather than straight back?

hey,
mine was a 40 series deltaflow, exiting straight out the back. i got 3 1/2 slanted tips, aluminized pipe. altogether it was about $180, it was $71 bucks for the Flowmaster and my muffler man charged me $110 to put it on. he doesnt charge any difference in price whether it comes out the sides, corners or straight back...you might not find somebody that'll do this, but thats the way it went for me.

My buddy had his FM installed(2 chamber) for $95. Included install, tip, and piping, which was press bent. Cheapest place I have ever seen.

Dang that price is amazing. I'm gonna call the muffler place this week and probably get them to put on FM 40 Delta Flow with the tips exiting out the corners. I'm still not sure on what side pipe or tips. If it helps, I have a 97 4.6L with the muffler in front of the rear right tire. Anyone know what size tips and pipes would give me best performance or what is most popular?

paid 175 for the FM 40, 3" piping, and tip. I was quoted 200-225 at most.

I had 3" aluminized pipe put on after the y-pipe, a flowmaster 40 SI/DO with the two 2.5" pipes coming out in front of the right rear wheel. Without tips it cost me $210. I had two 2.5" stainless steel rolled edge tips put on after the fact which cost me $100 dollars installed. The stainless steel looks really sharp and there is absolutely no movement or vibration on this setup unlike my precious truck where I had duals coming out the back. There is some interior noise in the cab due to the close proximty of the exhaust outlet to the cab but its a nice drone to me. The weight savings alone from the stock to flowmaster muffler is amazing. The stock thing is huge. I've noticed a slight SOTP increase but I doubt it will improve your et's by more than .1 seconds, but I wouldn't even count on that unless you change the Y-Pipe to a three inch outlet as well as the rest of the pipe.
