New Exhaust Just Installed
I just got my stup @$$ in front of the tire exaust changed. I figured while I was at it, I'd replace the muffler to get a little better sound. I chose the Flowmaster 50 series, and had a new stock behind the tire tail pipe installed. The sound isn't much louder than stock, but is much lower sounding. It sounds real good when under a little bit of a load when accelerating. The interior resonance is pretty much the same as w/ the stock muffler. However, when you get on the gas, you can definitely tell by the sound that the engine makes, that it has had the muffler changed. The power is a little better, I'd say about 5-7 hp, by the ole seat of the pants method. I'm not real sure about the mileage yet, like everyone says w/ and exhaust change, it is pretty hard to keep your foot out of it, because any modified exhaust has to sound better than that shock *****. The muffler cost me around 90 dollars and about 90 for installation and a new tailpipe. I did't think it was too bad of a reaming!

Hey Blue_Farmer:
Did you get the straight thru or with the
Delta Flow ?
I'd like to find out the difference in
interior and exterior noise.
I have a 2001 F150 SuperCrew 5.4 that I'd
like to add an exhaust system.
Thanks,
Les

I put on the straight 50 series. I'm pretty happy w/ it. As far as mpg increase, I didn't see any yet, because I was on it a lot more this first tank. I still only get like 12-13 mpg w/ mostly highway driving at 70 mph. As far as interior resonance, it is pretty much the same level at cruising speed, but when you get on it, you can hear it a little.
