Thumbs up Ravin Installed!!!!!

After reading for about a month now, finally decided to go out and get the Z55 cat back dual sytem out the rear installed on my 99 f150 s/c 5.4, I am very satisfied w/ the sound and performance and would highly recommend it to anyone. The local Midas shop installed it for $255 out the door. Thanks for all the topics dealing with this.

EZDUZIT,

Congrats on your Ravin'. Although I only have a single out, I really like the muffler as well!

Good luck with your new system...

Ezduzit:

How does it sound @ idle? WOT? And cruising @ 70mph? Does it have a lot of "drone" or resonance in cab? What kind of truck was it/ (supercrew, supercab)

At idle it isn't even noticeable, but when you step on it, it is a deep rumble real simular to a mustang. There is a bad "drone" @ 1800 rpm (especially noticeable when you set the cruise @ 65). My truck is a supercab with this being the only modification so far.

Cool

That's strange, it sounds like I have the exact same setup as yours but I don't have any drone. In fact, at 65mph and 70mph, it is hardly any louder than stock. I agree with you on the "Mustang rumble".

I believe I experience the same thing that
Ezduzit refers to. Between 1500-2000 RPM (or about 70MPH) there is a definite drone in the cab. Not so loud that it is annoying (at least not to me) but it is there. I had a friend who has Flowmaster 40s and that was loud in the cab -- although the muffler sounded great, this was one of the reasons I didn't go with the Z-33 (which is louder than the Z-55). I do a lot of highway driving and did not want excessive resonance in the cab.
